6 Reasons Why You Should Rent Goats to Improve Your Land

Goats eat virtually everything in their path and can clear overgrown brush at an exceptional rate.

They possess a unique characteristic…they would rather eat brush and weeds than grass.

My family has a goatherd of over 400.

We started grazing because we wanted to manage overgrown brush on our land.

We wanted to find a way to restore the natural habitat without chemicals or big machines that was cost effective and affordable.

I remember the day we first turned our goats out into a pasture that was thick with multi-flora rose bushes.

It had been overgrazed and had an alarming amount of weeds.

The goats hit that brush at a dead run and stripped every leaf off of every stem and branch.

It was a sight to see.

Our goats can graze an acre a day, leaving it like a golf course with a few sticks and not a weed in sight.

Goats can control brush and weeds without disturbing the existing grass and soil unlike any bulldozer.

No synthetic chemicals that could run off into lakes and streams or be ingested by a cow or other animal.

6 reasons why you should rent goats to improve your land:

  1. No poisonous herbicides

  2. No machines

  3. goats work in rough terrain with little risk of erosion

  4. Seeds are not typically viable after being eaten by goats

  5. Valuable fertilizer is the only by-product

  6. It's a great show!

Goats are phenomenal at what they do.

They are natures bulldozers and do exactly what they are supposed to.
